CALL OUT- Cardiff Migrant Solidarity training part #1 is now on February 10th 2013

Cardiff Migrant Solidarity training part #1 is now on February 10th 2013.

CMS Wales is kicking off 2013 with a series of sessions aimed at
helping new volunteers to understand the asylum process, how we can
help refugees and migrants living in South Wales and what we have
found from the work we've done so far.

Part one will look at the asylum process of England and Wales and what
can happen when people claim asylum. Also we hope to look at the role
of the UKBA in people's asylum claims and how we can offer initial
asylum information to help people know what to expect when going for
interviews or signing at the Home Office.

Our training sessions are mostly aimed at people who are interested in
working with Cardiff Migrant Solidarity in Cardiff and/or across South
Wales but this is not a necessity, and our sessions will be an open
exercise in the world of migrant support, available to anyone no
matter how much or little interest you have in CMS as a group.

Other discussions will include:

- Legal situation for refugees

- Detainee support

- Ideas for future practical solidarity

The afternoon will be in two sessions of an hour, either side of an
Iraqi recipe home made soup and vegan chocolates/chocolate cake!

The venue for the day will be the Hungry Planet wholefoods shop and community
cafe at: 142 Clifton Street, CF24 1LY.

All are welcome (expect those who work against migrants; such as UKBA
etc.) Hope to see you there.

It helps to know how many people we are expecting , so please RSVP to
cardiffsolidarity @ to let us know if you are interested in
